Obama Breaks Bad, Really, Really, BAD!!

I deeply regret ever supporting this man. Image

Which one? That is just what in the Hell is bothering me this morning….

In court papers filed today (PDF), the United States Department of Justice requested that George W. Bush, Richard Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Colin Powell, Condoleezza Rice and Paul Wolfowitz be granted procedural immunity in a case alleging that they planned and waged the Iraq War in violation of international law.

Plaintiff Sundus Shaker Saleh, an Iraqi single mother and refugee now living in Jordan, filed a complaint in March 2013 in San Francisco federal court alleging that the planning and waging of the war constituted a “crime of aggression” against Iraq, a legal theory that was used by the Nuremberg Tribunal to convict Nazi war criminals after World War II.

With this act by the DOJ, Obama has confirmed what many of us did not want to face, that the political parties are not here for us; their purpose is to serve and protect the power that has accumulated in the White House over the last 12 years in particular.

Malaysia has already tried and convicted these criminal lowlifes in absentia.  Italy has tried and convicted the CIA operatives who snatched a suspected terrorist off the street in Milian, and then sent him to a more torture-friendly nation. Is Obama worried that he would be next? That his post-presidential life would be spent dodging subpoenas and writs in 17 different languages?

No matter his reasoning, the actions taken by His Department of Justice will define his legacy, which will be essentially indistinguishable from his predecessor. May as well make the Obama Presidential Library a wing of the Bush edifice.

  1. “Is Obama worried that he would be next?”

I suspect so. And he’s probably right about that.
